To heighten up the hysteria created by The Mandalorian and because we recognise that many of our customers and followers are fans of Star Wars, we bring you some fun yet interesting trivia about the famed Disney+ series. Besides, we at Mr Toys are fans of Star Wars – and The Mandalorian – ourselves!

Happy Hogan

Happy Hogan is certainly not in The Mandalorian! He is Tony Stark’s funny yet loyal friend and personal assistant in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). So what’s the connection? Happy Hogan is played by actor Jon Favreau! Did you know that Jon Favreau created The Mandalorian series? Yes, that comedic guy in the MCU is the creator, writer, and producer of The Mandalorian. He also directed some of its episodes.

Daredevil Lookalike

Marvel fans who watch (or have watched) The Mandalorian are surprised to see Matt Murdock’s face in the series. Matt Murdock is Daredevil’s alter-ego, the Marvel hero with his own show in Netflix; the character was played by Charlie Cox.

Heaps of people thought that the scientist working for the “Client” in The Mandalorian was portrayed by the same actor, as they look very much alike. But here’s the thing, the scientist was played by Omid Abtahi. We can’t blame the fans for thinking so – you can really mistake them as doppelgangers.

The Child A.K.A. "Baby Yoda"

If you ask Mandalorian fans who their favourite character is (aside from the Mandalorian), their most likely answer would be Baby Yoda. The thing is, the child is not the baby version of the legendary Jedi master and leading member of the Jedi High Council, Master Yoda. Remember, the events of the series happened after the fall of the empire. Did you know that there are only 3 known members of this mysterious species – Master Yoda, Master Yaddle, and the child?

Attachment to Foundlings

Mandalorians have a knack for picking up foundlings. In fact, the Mandalorian sect has a long-standing practice of saving orphans in jeopardy and taking them under their care. Adopting them eventually leads to being trained as Mandalorians themselves. So if you’re wondering how the sect keeps their line of succession, that is how they do it.

Fake Mandalorians

The Mandalorians originally was a legendary race of people from the planet Mandalore. They were seen as fierce warriors that could be hired as mercenaries. After a series of wars and internal ramblings, their planet became a barren wasteland and the Mandalorians evolved to become a group of bounty hunters practicing a way of living – similar to a religion.

However, the infamous Boba Fett (introduced in Empire Strikes Back) and his father Jango Fett (introduced in Attack of the Clones) were not real Mandalorians! Jango Fett wanted to be a bounty hunter and probably stumbled upon a dead Mandalorian’s armour. He later passed this occupation to his son Boba Fett. Mandalorians never take off their helmets in front of people because “that is their way,” but in the movies we saw Jango and Boba didn’t have any qualms showing their faces.

Feud with the Jedi

The Jedi and the Mandalorians have a long-running hostility with each other. Mandalorians see the Force as an unruly form of magic, while the Jedi perceive the Mandalorians as a group of honourless mercenaries.

You may easily think that the Jedi can easily overpower the Mandalorians because of the former’s attachment to the Force, but Mandalorians were able to develop their fighting skills, create armour that could resist lightsabre blows, and forge weapons that could beat the heck out of any Jedi.

Mando’a

Language is an essential aspect of Mandalorian culture, and even if their planet has been left for ruins, they still manage to keep their language intact. The Mandalorian language is simply called Mando’a.

Indestructible Armour

One of the things that make the Mandalorians a legend in the Star Wars mythology is their super armour. It is said that Mandalorian armour is made from Beskar steel, the type of metal that can withstand blaster fire, explosions, and lightsabre attacks.
