Is There a L.O.L. Surprise! TV Show?

As of the time this is being written, there is no “L.O.L. Surprise!” TV show yet. If you are a fan of these tiny collectable surprise dolls, you definitely would want them to have their own show on TV. Unfortunately, it isn’t happening soon.

For those who are not into the fad yet, allow us to take you through a brief primer. The L.O.L. Surprise! Dolls are the breakout toys that got released in 2017. They started the “surprise” genre of toys which lets kids unwrap a ball-like package to reveal the surprise doll inside. The box label does not say anything, so you need to uncover it layer after layer. The thing is, hidden within each layer are more surprises that serve as teasers to the main surprise doll – they may include outfits for the doll, accessories, and a little touching message. Once you have uncovered every layer, the centre will reveal the surprise doll.

In case you are wondering, L.O.L. stands for Little Outrageous Littles (not “laughing out loud” as what is commonly used in text messages).

L.O.L. Surprise! is made available in series and each package contains a unique doll character. Since you wouldn't know what doll character you’ve got until you unwrap the layers, there is a risk that you might get the same doll you had before. So you need to collect… and collect… until you have completed all the various surprises. The possibilities are endless!

Big Sister and Lil Sister

There are generally 2 sizes of L.O.L Surprise! Dolls: the Big Sister and the Lil Sister. The Big Sister comes with 7 layers of surprises, while the Lil Sister has 5 layers. The former has the capability to change colours or reveal hidden markings when soaked in water; the arms and legs are movable, and its clothing can be removed and changed as well.

The L.O.L. Surprise! Mania

Some parents may still have a hard time understanding why kids would be super interested with L.O.L. Surprise! It’s probably because such genre of toys did not exist (yet) during their time. Imagine buying a toy but not knowing what you’re going to get until you unwrap it. But that practically is the reason why kids – especially the little girls – are super into it.
