Who Is Mad Max?

The story of Mad Max follows the adventures of Max Rockatansky, an ex-cop in a post-apocalyptic Australia where societies have collapsed and were experiencing shortage of resources due to the effects of a devastating war that happened prior to these events.

When a barbarous group of bikers killed his wife and child, Max took revenge and became a drifter in the wasteland. He found himself helping people using his warrior skills and saving them from vicious barbarians, often because of his own self-interests but eventually evolving to more altruistic motivations. His legend grew and people started to call him Mad Max.

Presently, there have been 4 Mad Max movies, namely Mad Max (1979), Mad Max II: Road Warrior (1981), Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985), and Mad Max: Fury Road (2015).
